Money Management
The Money Management Program is designed to assist elderly or disabled Boston adults who have difficulty with the routine tasks of money management. Adult volunteers from the community are recruited, trained, and then matched with a “client”. Since 1991 the program has helped over 2,000 individuals to avoid the worst consequences of financial mismanagement: eviction, loss of services, and financial exploitation. It provides a vital link in the chain of services that can help an elder to remain in an independent living situation. Clients experience increased stability and quality of life as well as greater peace of mind. Volunteers have a meaningful way of contributing to their community.
The program is sponsored by Mass Home Care, AARP, and the three Boston ASAPs (Boston Senior Home Care, Central Boston Elder Services, and Ethos).
